The only reason I ever watch the Super Bowl is to see the commercials. This is for two reasons, first, I know nothing about football. And second, when companies are paying 3 million dollars for 30 seconds of air time, I want to see what they’re showing. 3 million dollars per spot. 100 thousand dollars per second. Three thousand thirty three dollars per frame. Two of the spots have already leaked out on the interwebs, so here they are, just click on the images to watch.
San Francisco looks slightly different in this $3333 Star Trek frame.
Pixar’s spot for UP was 60 seconds long– which means it cost them 6 million dollars.
Other spots I liked: Pepsi’s Refresh Anthem & I’m Good, Budwiser’s Clysdesdales Circus & Generations, Transformer’s Revenge of the Fallen, E*Trade’s talking babies, and of course the Audi commercial with Jason Statham. BTW– 3d is really, really dumb.
