Lost: LaFleur

More Lost? Another great episode from what is turning out to be the best season of Lost. This week we got to see the limbos finally stop flashing, and how Jin got to be wearing a Dharma uniform in last week’s episode. Despite all that cool stuff, my favorite little moment was right after John moved the island, when the limbo’s got a glimpse of the huge Egyptian statue, most likely the four-toed one spotted earlier by Jin, Sun, and Sayid. Judging by the ears, I would guess that we have a dog or a cat here. It is most likely Anubis, god of the underworld and the one responsible for transporting the dead to afterlife. It appears to be holding an Ankh is its right hand, the same symbol that Paul had on his necklace (see below). Other gods it may be: Bastet, Set, or Sekhmet (all very unlikely). And I’m sorry– I’m just going through a major Egypt phase right now.

Fantastic episode. This goes along with the hieroglyphics on the temple from before. What do you think woody, the first people to find the island were the ancient egyptians? Are they the others? I can’t wait til next week.

check it out: ancient egyptians go on a really long walk west and end up in whats now tunisia and somehow figure out theres a portal to some island of death and set up a lil temple situation.

Ben is absolutely on the island, and to not see him would be a rip off. I look forward to a young ben-juliet/annie revelation.

Concerning Egyptians, I think they were on the island some time before the others got there, they possibly used it as a place of worship because of its supernatural power. I, for one, am not so big on the Egyptian guy liner theory. I think it would be kind of boring if Richard were just an immortal Egyptian– unless he were some sort of god (R.A.?), that would be cool.

Elana, I think you’re right on with the Tunisia thing. It is obviously an exit, and I think it’s an entrance too. They even showed a well in a deleted scene after Ben’s first Tunisian teleport back in season 3 I think.
